CENTRAL NEW HAMPSHIRE SPECIAL
OPERATIONS UNIT
(CNHSOU)
The Littleton Police Department has been a member of the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit (CNHSOU) since 2003. Currently there are 5 members of the Department that are active with the CNHSOU.
The CNHSOU is a regional special operations unit that provides responses to effectively handle high risk situations that exceed the normal capabilities of standard patrol units. The Team trains on a continual basis for situations such as barricaded subjects, hostage rescue, high risk search warrants, high risk arrest warrants, as well as, search and rescue operations and emergency scene management. An additional element of the Team includes the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT).
The CNHSOU provides all necessary equipment to the members of the Team and a strenuous training program is mandatory in order to keep the necessary skills required to resolve high incident calls for service.
The Team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to the participating Towns that are a part of the CNHSOU.
